Course Description:

Oceanography is the study of the World Ocean located on Earth including the biological, chemical and physical properties thereof.  Students will be introduced to the following branches involved in the study of Oceanography: Biology, Chemistry, Geology, and Meteorology (Atmospheric Sciences).  In addition, students will apply science towards the solving of problems and will work with methods utilized in the process of scientific inquiry, scientific investigation, scientific theory, and measurement.  Through lectures, discussions, lab investigations, and a variety of additional activities; students will learn the organization of Earth's World Ocean, its importance and specific issues facing its survival.
